ABOUT THE ARTIST :: Tom Wray - photographer

Tom and his wife Mara settled in Schomberg 39 yrs ago. They were drawn to the area because of the quaint historic village and the gentle rolling hills of King township.
They live in one of the charming heritage houses that make this area so picturesque. Peek over the picket fence and you can glimpse the flowers that are the inspiration for many of Tom's floral studies.
The woods, streams and farmland in this area offer Tom plenty of subject matter, and the changing seasons create different perspectives.
Whilst the couple enjoy the beautiful scenery and pristine lakes of Ontario, they love to venture further afield. Their travels have taken them from the rugged shoreline of the East Coast to the mountainous West. When visiting Mara's family in England, they always set aside a few days to explore the breathtaking landscape of the Lake District - a photographer / hiker's paradise.
Tom has captured images from these trips which are represented in the gallery.
Meanwhile, Tom's latest passion is horse photography. With so many horse farms in the area it was a natural progression for him. His goal is to observe horses in the wild: Sauble Island, Alberta, Iceland, the Algarve and Connemara are destinations that beckon. Which one will be next?
"The ability to capture the beauty that surrounds us is gift of a limited few....Tom' ability to accomplish this is both unique and amazing!" George Burt
